Privacy Policy
Luthier Lab is an Android application created by Winterberry Software. It is provided for free, to use as is.
This document describes our policy regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Identifiable Information (PII), and aggregated, anonymized information (AAI).
By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. The PPI and AAI that we collect is used exclusively for improving the Application. We will not use or share your
information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy has the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Data Collected Automatically
The Application does not automatically collect any PII, although any data you enter via the following tools will be included in the database (stored on your device):
- Notes: text notes
- Chladni Patterns: photos
- Spectrum Analyzer: one second audio samples
Subsequently, if you encounter a problem with the Application and report the problem to us, your database file (including the data you have entered), will be included with the problem report. We will use this information only as needed to aid in diagnosing the problem you are reporting. You can contact us to request that we delete the information.
Third Party Services
Google Analytics
Google Analytics collects data to help us understand how our users are using the Application.
- App-instance ID - used for tracking user metrics (anonymized)
- Advertising ID (unused)
- Anonymized PI address - used to derive coarse location data
- In-app purchases and subscriptions (unused)
- App lifecycle events
- Certain user actions - to help us understand which features are used (anonymized)
Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Crashlytics collects data to enable crash reporting and crash management services. This data is collected only in the event of an application crash.
- Stack traces
- Relevant application state
- Point-in-time metadata about the device
- Crashlytics installation UUID - to measure the number of users impacted by a crash
- "Breadcrumb" logs - to identify user actions immediately before a crash
- Version number and build-time of the application
- Name of the user's "active project"
Device Metadata and Log File Data
If the Application crashes (or otherwise detects a serious error) we assemble some data about your device and the Application's state at the time of the event. This "Device Metadata" and "Log File" data may include:
- Android verion
- Device's brand, model, manufacturer
- Error event
- Configuration of the Application at the time of the error event
- Your actions in the Application just prior to the error event
The assembled data will be automatically uploaded via a third party crash reporting mechanism. The data is anonymized.
If you contact us via the Application's "Report Problem" feature, the following will be attached to your email:
- Log File data
- Device metadata
- Your database file
This data will only be used to help us diagnose the problem, and improve the Application. You can contact us to request that we delete the information.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after
they are posted on this page.
